The Franz Liszt Chamber Orchestra celebrates its 60th anniversary, which, in addition to being a significant occasion for reflection, also calls for continuous renewal. The chamber ensemble is one of Hungary’s most prominent classical music exports, known and appreciated worldwide, performing with the greatest artists of the international music scene. On the occasion of the anniversary, we spoke to István Várdai, the equally highly acclaimed cellist-artistic director. We talked about the past, about the changes the music profession has gone through in the last decades, and of course how a self-identical artist can adapt to all this.
