Since its foundation, the Franz Liszt Chamber Orchestra has had the privilege of working with the world’s most renowned instrumental soloists. Over the years, the ensemble has shared the stage with Sviatoslav Richter, Mstislav Rostropovich, Isaac Stern, Yehudi Menuhin, Jean-Pierre Rampal, Martha Argerich, Vadim Repin, Emmanuel Pahud, Mischa Maisky, Maxim Vengerov, Gábor Boldoczki, and Kristóf Baráti, among many others.
To perform with the Franz Liszt Chamber Orchestra has been a mark of distinction since the 1960s. The ensemble continues to appear on major international stages just as it did decades ago, with recent performances ranging from Amsterdam to Beijing.
Yet at the Óbuda Social Circle, they offer something different: the orchestra’s musicians perform in smaller chamber formations, presenting duo and trio sonatas, as well as one of the most beautiful works ever written for string quartet.
Programme:
Händel-Halvorsen: Passacaglia
Kodály: Intermezzo for String Trio
Mozart: Duo in G major for Violin and Viola, K.423
Dvořák: String Quartet in F major "American Quartet", Op. 96
