Dénes Várjon and the classical masters
The Franz Liszt and Sándor Veress Prize-winning Dénes Várjon with his sensational technique, deep musicality, wide range of interest has become one of the most exciting and highly regarded participants of international musical life. He is a universal musician: an excellent soloist, first-class chamber musician, artistic leader of festivals, highly sought-after teacher. He appears regularly at leading international festivals from Marlboro Music Festival to Salzburg and Edinburgh Festival.
In his work, chamber music is of exceptional importance. After several highly successful joint production, Várjon will perform again with the Franz Liszt Chamber Orchestra in this season. This time he performs pieces from the three masters of Viennese Classicism: Mozart’s The Marriage of Figaro Overture (K.492), Beethoven’s C major Piano Concerto (No. 1) and Haydn symphony in B flat major (No. 102).

In June and July Liszt Ferenc Chamber Orchestra gives several concerts with Martha Argerich, one of the greatest performers of our time. The common tour starts on 5th and 6th of June in Italy, Brescia and Bergamo, and ends on 10th of July at Ljubljana Festival. The program will be Saint-Saëns: The Carnival of the Animals.Details

István Várdai, only at the age of 30, is widely considered as one of the most sought-after cellists of the world. On the concert held on 14th February, György Orbán’s A Farewell to Count Rasumoffsky, Schubert’s Sonata in A minor "Arpeggione", D.821 and Mendelssohn’s String Octet in E flat major, Op.20 will be played.Details
In this year’s season, the much-loved children’s concerts that started in the spring of 2016 will be continued. Envisioned by the pianist Izabella Simon the aim of these occasions is to guide the children, with the help of music, literature and visual art, to a magic world where they can be active participants of the stories.Details
