Gala concert

On the 30th of May Liszt Ferenc Chamber Orchestra celebrates the 25th annyversary of diplomatic relation between Hungary and Georgia in Pesti Vigadó, Budapest. The soloist of the concert will be the brilliant Georgian pianist, Elisso Bolkvadze.


Born in Tbilisi, Georgia, in the family of poets and writers, Elisso Bolkvadze began her musical study at the early age of four and performed her first concert with orchestra at the age of seven. She’s a musician with numerous talents with an outstanding sensibility and brilliant virtuosity. A superstar in her country of birth, prize winner of many international piano world competitions, Elisso Bolkvadze was awarded with The Medal of Georgian Government – one of the most prestigious national honors.


The Georgian artist has established herself as a vivid cultural heritage protector and became UNESCO Artist for Peace in 2015. She also founded Batumi International Music Festival on the shore of the Black Sea, which became a cultural highlight in Georgia. Elisso Bolkvadze tours across the world with recital concerts and with major orchestras in Asia, America and Europe, playing Mozart, Beethoven, Schubert, Debussy, Prokofiev and Chopin. As an Artist of Distinction, she performed Mozart piano concerto N21 for the season opening with Arkansas Symphony Orchestra, in USA.


She recorded several albums for Sony BMG and Cascavelle Label, performing piano concertos by Beethoven, Rachmaninoff and Liszt. As an artist actively engaged in cultural and human rights actions, Elisso Bolkvadze gave several charity concerts in Georgia, as well as in USA and Switzerland, Victoria Hall.

    Summer concerts with Martha Argerich

    In June and July Liszt Ferenc Chamber Orchestra gives several concerts with Martha Argerich, one of the greatest performers of our time. The common tour starts on 5th and 6th of June in Italy, Brescia and Bergamo, and ends on 10th of July at Ljubljana Festival. The program will be Saint-Saëns: The Carnival of the Animals.

    BaroquePlus Series

    In addition to the traditional Liszt Academy Concert Series and Children’s Concerts, this year’s season will launch a new concert series called Baroque Plus. The specialty of the concerts organized in this series is that next to the great Baroque masters; Bach, Vivaldi and Corelli, contemporary pieces will be played as well.
